Opera Australia's OzOpera
In 2004, Australia Post joined Opera Australia as a Gold Partner and the principal sponsor of OzOpera. This sponsorship encompasses some of the most inspirational work of the national opera company; its tours of regional Australia, its development of new operas, and its Schools Company tours of Victoria and NSW.
OzOpera's mission is to break down the barriers to attending opera. It's activities include:
-
primary schools productions which perform to over 80,000 children every year
-
a regional and metropolitan tour of a fully staged opera
-
the commission and production of new Australian works as well as education workshops to demystify opera for all ages.
-
collaborations with educational institutions, festivals and other arts organisations.
Bringing opera to rural and regional Australia is part of our continuing commitment to deliver more for local communities and the arts.
 |
Australia Post is proud to be working with OzOpera, bringing opera at its best to all Australians, all over the country.

Beethoven-Stuart Piano Recording Project
Australia Post supported one of the nation’s most significant cultural projects - an all-Australian recording of Beethoven’s five concertos.
This is the first time an Australian pianist and orchestra has recorded all five of Beethoven’s concertos, including the famous Emperor Concerto.
The first stage of the Beethoven recording has now been released on a compilation CD Moonlight: The Timeless Piano Music of Beethoven and is available in selected Australia Post retail outlets.

Stage two of the Beethoven-Stuart Piano Recording Project is released under the ABC Classics label and is now available .

What you can see at the Gallery:
- a permanent exhibition featuring selections from the National Philatelic Collection and the Chapman Collection, illustrating changes in Australian stamps during each decade of the century.
- the Court of Honour featuring rare and unusual philatelic items.
