Fee Schedule for Transactions to China
Sending Money Fees
The fee for an IMO sent from Australia to China is AUD$16.50 (GST inclusive) up to the value of AUD$5,000.
Australia Post offers competitive exchange rates. However these may differ from those offered by the major financial institutions in Australia. Due to daily fluctuations, the applicable exchange rates are not published on this website. Exchange rate information is available at participating Australia Post outlets when you apply to send an IMO.
For further information, refer to the terms and conditions.
Cancellation fees
A cancellation fee of AUD$11 (GST inclusive) will be deducted from the original IMO amount.
Refunds will be made by cheque payable to the sender or by direct deposit into the sender’s nominated bank account.
Banking Fees
An additional banking service and administration fee of AUD$11.00 (GST inclusive) will be charged for IMOs deposited into a customer’s bank account.
-
Up to 1 November 2008, Australia Post will deduct this fee from the transferred amount before the IMO is deposited into the customer’s nominated Australian bank account.
-
From 1 November 2008 onwards, China Post will collect a $10.00 (GST exclusive) fee from the sender (or the equivalent amount in the designated currency). When this happens, Australia Post will cease to deduct this fee from the transferred funds.
